Release Notes for 2025.3.0 Release - July 1, 2025
New Features and Improvements
Quickly Access Full Task Context with Linked Issues
Each task now displays a link to its associated issue (e.g., a Jira or GitHub ticket) along with the issue’s ID. This enhancement allows users to navigate directly to the original ticket for more context.
Understand Task Size at a Glance
Task size labels are now presented in plain language (e.g., "Small" instead of "S") for improved clarity. This change helps users quickly comprehend the task's size without interpreting abbreviations.
See Team Contributions with Developer Grouping in Activity
The Projects > Activity section now offers an option to view tasks grouped by developer. This new grouping simplifies the process of seeing what each developer has been working on, allowing teams to quickly check work items organized per team member.
Easily Track Developer Work in One Unified View
The viewing of recent development work has been streamlined by combining the separate “Activity” and “Commits” sections into a single consolidated list. This unified view displays issue titles for work tied to issues, facilitating easier tracking of a developer’s work. You can find this both under the new Tasks area on the Project page or by clicking on a particular engineer.
Stay Updated with Real-Time Visibility into Team Activity
Users can now see what each team member is working on in real-time, as well as their recently completed tasks, directly from the dashboard. This live visibility provides managers with instant insight into their team’s work status without manual updates.
Fix SSO Setup Faster with Clearer Error Messages
Messages displayed for Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration issues have been enhanced. If SSO settings are missing or misconfigured, the system now clearly explains which setting is incorrect or missing and provides guidance on how to fix it, including links to documentation.
Control Who Can Join Live Sessions with Repository-Based Access Rules
Live session access can now be restricted based on a participant’s access to the source repository. If someone without the necessary permissions tries to join, the host gets a clear explanation of what's missing, and the guest sees a simple notification.
Availability depends on the source repository provider.
Log In Seamlessly with PingIdentity SSO
Support for PingIdentity as a Single Sign-On (SSO) provider has been added. Organizations using PingIdentity for authentication can now configure CodeTogether to utilize it for user login, facilitating smoother enterprise integration.
New, Clearer Productivity Metric
A redesigned Productivity metric is now available on the All Metrics dashboard for company, department, and project views. Based on a combination of engagement and task efficiency, this metric provides a more transparent view into team performance across all levels..
Manage Sprint Timelines with Editable Iteration Settings
The Iterations configuration has been added to the Project Settings area. Previously, once a project was created, iteration (sprint) settings were not visible. Now, users can view and adjust the iteration configuration for a project at any time, simplifying project timeline management.
Explore Trends More Easily with Expanded Metric Graphs
Users can now expand any watched metric to view a detailed large graph over time with breakdowns by component. Previously, this detailed chart was only available if a metric had a specific goal set, but now all metrics support this expanded view, offering deeper insight into trends even when no goal is defined.
Key Bug Fixes
Eliminated Duplicate Task Listings in Project Activity
An issue where a developer’s current active task would appear twice on the project activity page has been resolved. Now, each task is listed only once in the project view, eliminating any potential confusion caused by duplicate entries.
